Narola Changkija lives in Australia and teaches creative writing at Griffith University, Queensland. She is interested in the storytelling format of the graphic novel, and in the folklore and tales of the Naga tribes of North-Eastern India. Her 2008 PhD submission at Griffith University was a graphic novel script based on the myth of the tiger-soul.
