Archival and preservation work has always been a guiding principle in Zubaan’s contribution to women’s movements. Our projects have gathered, commissioned, and collaborated on folk art, posters, theatre work, panel discussions, closed conversations, webinars, workshops, longform written work, and exhibitions. They seek always to example marginalizations due to — and community understandings of — caste, ethnicity, religion, geographical location, and gender. This archive of works gathers together, in one accessible place, the processes and persons who have led conversations in the field of gender, and in our own work. Due in part to local and global learnings from the COVID-19 pandemic, these materials will always be free and open to adaptation.
